The trek appealed to me because of its focus on economic development and Dan Gilbert’s Rock Venture portfolio companies. The most enlightening aspect of the trek for me was the tour of Dan Gilbert’s properties and companies. I was absolutely floored. I expected to see great things, given what I had had and witnessed in the city in the prior years. What I saw, though, was beyond anything I could have ever imagined. There was an energy there that has me so excited for the city.” Eric Tawney (AB’14)
