Students Explore International Business in Singapore

UChicago Careers in Business sent a group 15 students on a trek to Singapore to help them broaden their horizons and explore post-graduation opportunities abroad. The trek was designed not only to connect students with employment and networking opportunities in Singapore, but also to expand their understanding of the world economy.

Companies visited:

  • Bloomberg
  • BP Singapore
  • Citi
  • Bain
  • Marina Bay Sands hotel and casino
  • DBS Bank
  • Mulligan's Pub
  • Temasek
  • Dimensional Fund Advisors
  • Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC) | Alumni Host: Leslie Teo (AB '92)

The Singapore Trek was an amazing experience! I have found UCIB treks in general to be very enlightening and meaningful, but this one was the best yet. This Singapore Trek really widened my horizons and got me to think about what it would be like to work in Singapore and Asia in general. I feel that the lineup of firms contained a good mix of banks, financial firms and non-finance firms. It was great that UChicago alumni were presenting to us at most site visits, making it easier to relate to their presentations.” - Shin Kim (AB'14)
