Career Advancement and the Institute of Politics (IOP) traveled with 10 female students to Beijing to participate in a cultural exchange trek hosted by China Women’s University (CWU). This trek was part of a larger program called the Women in Public Service Project (WPSP), a program that strives to empower the next generation of women and encourage them to learn the significance of public service. The focus of this trek was to strengthen the students’ understanding of working in public service and female leadership in China, as well as help the students translate their academic experiences into professional aspirations and provided a window into understanding what lies beyond the University.

Going to China with WPSP was the most paradigm-shifting, rewarding experience I've had in college, and UChicago is so lucky to have assets like you both [who?] who make it possible for students to have these experiences. Thank you, thank you, thank you for relentlessly pursuing these opportunities for all of us - you make UChicago an amazing place to be a student.” - Olivia Myszkowski (AB’15)
