Entrepreneurship Explorer Pre-Orientation Program
The Entrepreneurship Explorer Pre-Orientation Program is a 3-day pre-orientation experience sponsored by Career Advancement's UChicago Careers in Entrepreneurship program for up to 20 incoming first-year students. This program seeks to introduce students to an entrepreneurial mindset through observation and design thinking. As part of the experience, students will build a network with other members of the incoming class and local alumni and enjoy the food, culture and business environment of San Francisco and the Silicon Valley region.
Applications for the 2017 program have now closed.
UChicago Careers in Entrepreneurship builds upon the world-class UChicago liberal arts foundation to give students who are interested in entrepreneurship an opportunity to explore new business ideas and problem solving through a startup lens. Opportunities exist for students who want to start companies, work at early stage companies or learn how new companies are financed.
The Entrepreneurship Explorer Pre-Orientation program is designed for students looking for opportunities to apply entrepreneurial tools to solve problems. Explorer participants will engage in interactive experiences that will build upon lessons in observation, design thinking and problem solving. Students will be active participants in this experiential learning opportunity and will be expected to share outcomes with potential stakeholders which will include alumni and friends in local industries. Activities will provide participants with the opportunity to meet seasoned professionals and alumni leaders in local firms and engage in meaningful interactions with fellow classmates, upperclassmen, and alumni prior to their start at the University.
The Program occurs the week prior to College Pre-Orientation, September 5-8.
