Designed for students pursuing AI careers this program offers internships integrating, evaluating, and deploying AI technologies in businesses and startups across industries. This is a remote-first program offering students the ability to gain meaningful experience while residing in their location of choice. Students should review specific internship listings to ensure they will be available to work during the host company’s primary business hours and accommodate any time zone differences if needed. Students will receive a $5,000 stipend. Opportunities will be available to students on Handshake and recruitment will occur in two cycles over winter and spring quarters.

Created for students interested in developing research, analytical, and professional skills in a business setting, the Business Research – Chicago program will offer undergraduates the opportunity to complete internships with organizations in the Chicago area. Students will gain hands-on experience conducting research, analyzing information, and contributing to projects that support organizational strategy and decision-making. Students will receive a $5,000 stipend. Opportunities will be available to students on Handshake and recruitment will occur in two cycles over Fall and Winter quarters.

Created for students pursuing careers in finance, the Finance – New York program will offer undergraduates the opportunity to gain professional experience with organizations in one of the world’s leading financial centers. Students will apply their academic and technical skills in a professional setting while strengthening their understanding of the financial-services industry and workplace culture in New York. Students will receive a $5,000 stipend. Opportunities will be available to students on Handshake and recruitment will occur in two cycles over Fall and Winter quarters.

The Finance – Remote program will offer undergraduates the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with finance-related organizations while working remotely. Students will contribute to professional projects, develop relevant analytical and communication skills, and gain exposure to the work, expectations, and career paths available across the financial-services industry. This opportunity may span a range of finance functions, employer types, and geographic markets. The virtual format allows students to gain meaningful professional experience while collaborating with supervisors and colleagues from different locations. Students will receive a $5,000 stipend. Opportunities will be available to students on Handshake and recruitment will occur in two cycles over Fall and Winter quarters.

Designed for students pursuing careers in energy and startups, this program offers internships across Innovation DuPage's portfolio of startups working in solar and geothermal installation, energy audits, EV charging infrastructure, biofuels, decarbonization, and energy software to name a few! Students are matched with a host company based on their interests, experience, and company need, and contribute to projects spanning strategy and business development, marketing, operations, technical research, and environmental impact reporting. Opportunities are based in Chicago an will be hybrid or remote. Students must be available during standard business-hours. Students will receive a $5,000 Metcalf stipend for these full-time summer roles. Recruitment will occur through Handshake in the spring quarter.
DC National Security

Created for students pursuing opportunities in national security and public policy in Washington, DC, this program will offer UChicago undergraduates the opportunity to spend the summer working full-time with organizations in the DC area. Students will gain hands-on professional experience across a range of national security fields and strengthen their professional skills and policy acumen while developing a deeper understanding of workplace culture in the region. Opportunities may include roles with government agencies, think tanks, and organizations working across the national security sector. Students will receive a $5,000 stipend. For over 15 years, UChicago has partnered with Summer on the Cuyahoga (SOTC) - a unique paid summer internship program in Cleveland open to all undergraduate UChicago students of all class years. The program brings together 70-80 students from UChicago and other colleges for an intensive summer immersion program designed to help interns explore the professional, civic and social offerings of the Cleveland area. SOTC offers students substantive paid internships with 40+ employers, numerous events/activities, housing, community introductions, and alumni connections. UChicago alumni volunteers, are assigned to serve as local points of contact for interns during their summer internship. Interns will be paired with an alumni host who may help with career advice or professional introductions. Internships are across industries that include: the Arts, Education, Engineering, Finance, Healthcare, IT, non-profits and more.

This program will offer College students the chance to spend the summer working full-time with a venture capital firm or a venture-backed startup. AI in Asia offers 10–15 UChicago undergraduates the opportunity to spend the summer working full-time with leading organizations across Hong Kong, Beijing, Shenzhen, and other major regional hubs. Designed for students interested in pursuing post-graduate careers in Asia and exploring the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence, the program provides hands-on professional experience applying AI across a variety of industries, including business, finance, technology, and startups. Work authorization requirements vary by employer, and participating students will receive a $5,000 summer stipend. Internship opportunities will be posted on Handshake at the beginning of Winter Quarter.

This immersive program, organized in collaboration with the American University in Cairo (AUC), offers UChicago undergraduates the opportunity to gain real-world business experience through academic sessions led by AUC faculty and industry experts. Students will engage and network with professionals in finance, entrepreneurship, and sustainability, visit leading companies to explore Egypt’s business ecosystem, and participate in cultural experiences such as guided tours of the Pyramids of Giza and historic Cairo.
German for Business: Summer Internships in German-Speaking Europe:

The Wanxiang Corporation and UChicago Career Advancement are partnering to offer a summer program that will send UChicago students to China for a pre-professional educational experience focused on exposing students to Chinese culture and language. The program is supplemented with sessions geared towards introducing students to the basics of green technology and the scope of the Wanxiang Corporation's clean technology initiatives in China. The Wanxiang Ambassador Fellows program is ideal for students looking to expand their knowledge of Chinese culture and interact with peer students.
Participating students will travel as a group to Hangzhou, China. Housed at Wanxiang Polytechnic University, they will participate in a 6-week program that consists of 3 weeks of classroom-based Chinese language and culture study, as well as seminars focusing on the basics of clean energy. In addition to classes, students will also participate in field trips around China geared towards advancing their understanding of Chinese culture. During the last two weeks of the program students will take part in a shadowing program held at the Wanxiang Electric Vehicle Co, Ltd. and a green energy trek to expand their understanding of the energy industry within China.

A collaboration between the University of Chicago Institute for Climate and Sustainable Growth and Career Advancement, the Climate Institute Fellows Program is an intensive experiential program based at Ahmedabad University. Participants will gain first-hand exposure to the unique challenges and opportunities India faces while balancing climate change, energy demands, and economic growth. Fellows will receive field-based training and curriculum delivered at the UChicago Delhi Center and Ahmedabad University’s Climate Institute, with the support of UChicago faculty and staff. Fellows have the opportunity for professional development and career training through research projects, seminars, workshops and a career trek. Additional opportunities for cultural exchange and exploration of India’s diverse cultural heritage sites like the Taj Mahal are included!

Students will gain hands-on, project-based experience in a highly international and entrepreneurial environment. French language skills are strongly preferred but not required. Gain real-world experience in one of the world's biggest quantum hubs! Selected students will be matched with prominent quantum employers throughout Germany such as Qoro, QuantumDiamonds, and Peak Quantum for a 10-week long internship experience. Opportunities will range from technical roles, such as software development, to business strategy. Students of all backgrounds with an interest in quantum should feel welcome to apply! No prior quantum work experience is necessary.
