The UChicago Careers in Law Advisory Council is a committee of experts in the legal field who advise the Careers in Law team on how to best serve the pre-law student population at the University of Chicago.

Tamara McClatchey, JD, MSW
Director of Career Services
University of Chicago Law School
Tamara McClatchey is the Director of Career Services at the University of Chicago Law School and has been with the Office of Career Services since May 2019. She manages core career services including student advising and coaching, career programming, communications, job search resources, and recruitment programs. Before transitioning to career services, she earned her law degree from the University of Chicago Law School and practiced corporate law at a large firm in Chicago. Before law school, she held several management and direct service roles in not-for-profit organizations and received her master’s degree from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration.
Professor Nicole Hallett

Nicole Hallett is a Clinical Professor of Law at the University of Chicago Law School and directs the Immigrants’ Rights Clinic, which provides legal representation to immigrant communities in Chicago, including individual representation of immigrants in removal proceedings, immigration-related complex federal litigation, and policy and community education projects on behalf of community-based organizations. Her scholarship focuses on domestic and regional migration law and policy; the intersection of migration and labor rights; federalism and judicial review in the US immigration system; immigration and national security; and collective action and power-building in immigrant communities. In her practice, she specializes in creative lawyering through complex litigation and multi-pronged advocacy. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, The Nation, the Today Show, the Intercept, and the Associated Press, among other places.
Candace Bergeron Lenard, MLA

Candace Bergeron Lenard is the Associate Director of Student Engagement, Community & Wellness at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. In her capacity, she works in the Office of Student Services where she leads the Be Well initiative, a comprehensive wellness program designed to foster an environment that supports student well-being. Through a robust slate of programs, activities, and community-building opportunities, she equips students with tools to perform at their peak and succeed in law school and beyond. Previously, Candace held the role of Associate Director of Student Affairs & Programs at the University of Chicago Law School. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Illinois State University and a Master of Liberal Arts degree from the University of Chicago Graham School. She is a certified mediator and is currently pursuing a leadership coaching certification from Northwestern University.
ANGELA IRENE THEODOROPOULOS, JD

Angela Irene Theodoropoulos (she/her/hers) is an Associate in the healthcare practice of McDermott Will & Emery. Angela’s practice focuses on regulatory and transactional matters, with particular emphasis on digital health compliance and corporate governance for nonprofit hospitals and health systems. She maintains an active pro bono practice counseling on U-Visa applications and asylum petitions for Afghan nationals and performing governance and tax compliance counseling for a minority leadership development not-for-profit. Angela holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Chicago and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Michigan Law School. Before law school, she worked in clinical research on infectious disease studies to address care interventions for the LGBTQ+ community at Howard Brown Health in Chicago.
Diego Quesada, AB'22

Diego Quesada (He/Him/Él) is a rising 2L at the University of Chicago Law School. Before crossing the Midway, he attended the College at the University of Chicago, where he graduated summa cum laude in 2022. At UChicago Law, Diego is involved in a number of organizations, including: the University of Chicago Law Review, the Latinx Law Students Association (LLSA), the Pro Bono Board, and the Dean of Students Advisory Council. At the College, Diego served as the president of the Organization of Latin American Students as well as the general manager of eX Libris Cafe. Although he is still exploring his potential career paths, he is interested in becoming a litigator at the appellate level.
