First Year Career Cohorts help first year students get on the fast track to success with specialized fall quarter programming and advising. 100% of participants receive funding for a summer internship! Applications will open in Spring 2027.

All incoming first years are matched with a UChicago career adviser. Your adviser will work closely with you throughout your first year to help you explore your interests and find a great summer opportunity. Your adviser will contact you in Summer 2027 to introduce themselves and schedule your first meeting!

Transfer Family Career Webinars

All transfer students and their families are invited to join us for summer career webinars focused specifically on the needs of transfer students. At these events, we will review UChicago career resources, recruiting timelines for transfer students, and how students can stand out in the job and internship application process.

Transfer Finance Immersion Bootcamp

This workshop will provide students with a comprehensive overview of the finance recruiting process including timelines and best practices for success including interviewing and networking.

Summer 2027 Internship Practicum Course

Get a head start on career planning with this virtual, non-credit practicum course. The practicum is an optional opportunity for students with US work authorization to participate in a 2 week micro internship in September. There is no fee to enroll, and students will be matched with an employer to support unpaid project work virtually.

Research Assistantships

Each year, the Griffin Applied Economics Incubator invites MAE students to apply for paid research assistantships. Selected students will work on innovative, real-world research alongside faculty.
