Get expert support and join a community of peers by applying for a specialized career cohort! These programs provide intensive career preparation across a variety of industries. Each program offers professional development opportunities and hands-on experiences. In addition, some programs fund internships and other career opportunities.
These programs are a great fit for students who are interested in an immersive and structured experience, enjoy being part of a cohort, and feel comfortable making a commitment of a year or more.
Students are welcome to apply to and participate in as many programs as interest them, provided they can meet all program commitments. Visit the "Application Tips" section below for advice on how to create a strong and compelling application!

CAREER COHORT PROGRAMS
CAREERS IN EDUCATION PROFESSIONS ("ED PROS")
- Focus: students with a strong interest in any career in the education sector, including teaching, administration, research, policy, edtech, and more
- Commitment: 3 years
- Eligibility: first years eligible to apply; students begin the program in Autumn Quarter of second year. Second and third years are welcomed to reach out to Bethany Pacheco at bethanypacheco@uchicago.edu to discuss ways to get involved.

CLINICAL EXCELLENCE SCHOLARS PROGRAM
- Focus: students who aspire to be physicians and want to gain a deeper understanding of the doctor-patient relationship
- Commitment: 2 years
- Eligibility: apply second year, followed by a trial period / volunteering hours, with full membership in third and fourth years

- Commitment: 3 years
- Eligibility: first years eligible to apply; students begin program in Autumn Quarter of second year

FELLOWS IN COMMUNITY AND SOCIAL MEDICINE
- Focus: students who want to pursue a summer internship in community health and social medicine
- Commitment: 1 summer
- Eligibility: first, second, and third years eligible to apply

FINANCIAL MARKETS PROGRAM
- Focus: students who want to pursue careers in quantitative finance
- Commitment: 3 years
- Eligibility: first years eligible to apply; students begin program in Autumn Quarter of second year
- Application timeline: Late Winter thru Spring Quarter
GLOBAL HEALTH SCHOLARS PROGRAM
- Focus: students who are interested in health equity and want to explore global public health issues
- Commitment: 1- 3 years (depending on when program requirements are met)
- Eligibility: first, second, and third years eligible to apply
- Application timeline: Spring Quarter (application deadline: April 2023)
KATEN SCHOLARS PROGRAM
- Focus: students who want to pursue a summer research project in health or medical science with a UChicago faculty member
- Commitment: 1 summer
- Eligibility: first, second, and third years eligible to apply
- Application timeline: Two cycles of applications in Winter and Spring Quarter
KIPHART COLLEGIATE FELLOWS PROGRAM
- Focus: students who want to pursue summer internships in global health and social development, with a focus on the Global South
- Commitment: 1 summer
- Eligibility: first, second, and third years eligible to apply
- Application timeline: Autumn Quarter (December Deadline)
LAW AND POLITICS COHORT
- Focus: students who are interested in attending law school and considering a career in politics
- Commitment: 1 year (expected bi-weekly meeting attendance and final project in spring quarter)
- Eligibility: rising second, third, and fourth years eligible to apply
- Application timeline: Spring Quarter
LAWRENCE A. KIMPTON FELLOWS PROGRAM
- Focus: graduating students pursuing full-time work and interested in professional development opportunities post-graduation
- Commitment: academic year participation throughout the post-graduation job search, and 1 year as an alumnus
- Eligibility: fourth years (graduating students) eligible to apply
- Application timeline: Fall Quarter (first round application) and Winter Quarter (second round application)
LUTHER H. FOSTER, JR. PUBLIC SERVICE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
- Focus: students who are committed to elevating underrepresented voices in politics and social impact
- Commitment: 2 years
- Eligibility: all incoming 1st year students are eligible to apply
POZEN HUMAN RIGHTS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
- Focus: students who are interested in exploring human rights in practice through a summer internship
- Commitment: 1 year
- Eligibility: second and third years eligible to apply
- Application timeline: Autumn Quarter
PROTOTYPE FOR SUCCESS
- Focus: Two-year immersion program for students interested in careers at the intersection of engineering, science, and entrepreneurship.
- Commitment: 2 years
- Eligibility: All incoming 1st year students are eligible to apply
- Application timeline: Applications open summer before matriculation
PUBLIC POLICY LEADERS PROGRAM
- Focus: students who are ambitious about pursuing public interest and social impact careers
- Commitment: 3 years
- Eligibility: first years eligible to apply; students begin program in Autumn Quarter of second year

RBH ORAL HEALTH FELLOWS PROGRAM
- Focus: students who want to pursue a summer internship related to oral health
- Commitment: 1 summer
- Eligibility: first, second, and third years eligible to apply

RISING ATTORNEYS PROGRAM
- Focus: future law students who are planning on applying to law school within the next five years
- Commitment: 1 calendar year, during which you will study for and take the LSAT
- Eligibility: third-, and fourth-years, as well as recent alumni, are eligible to apply

SEIDEL SCHOLARS PROGRAM
- Focus: students who want to pursue a nontraditional summer career experience tied to their academic major
- Commitment: 1 summer
- Eligibility: first, second, and third years majoring in Anthropology, Art History, Cinema and Media Studies, Classical Studies, Comparative Human Development, Comparative Literature, Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies, Creative Writing, East Asian Languages and Civilizations, English Language and Literature, Fundamentals: Issues and Texts, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Germanic Studies, History, Interdisciplinary Studies in the Humanities, Jewish Studies, Latin American and Caribbean Studies, Linguistics, Medieval Studies, Music, Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations, Religious Studies, Philosophy/Allied Fields, Psychology, Political Science, Romance Languages and Literatures, Russian and Eastern European Studies, Sociology, South Asian Languages and Civilizations, Theater and Performance Studies, Visual Arts.

- Focus: students who want to take on ambitious experiential learning projects, including internships, research projects, and entrepreneurial endeavors

- Focus: students who are seeking intensive preparation for a career in business
