Meet Our Students
Information Sessions One of the best ways to engage with students is through a virtual or in-person information session where you can showcase your organization, introducing students to your workplace, career pathways, and advancement. Most employer sessions are held in the evening after 5pm CT. Typically employers schedule sessions 2-3 weeks prior to first-round interviews.
Coffee Chats. Make connections with students in 1:1 or small group settings. Schedule your virtual chats as early as August 1, 2022, or in-person chats beginning September 30, 2022.
Interviews Our team will guide you in coordinating a seamless interview process by booking and managing day-of interviews. To make an interview reservation, log in to UChicago Handshake, our online job portal.
Career Fair Career Advancement offers an annual career and internship fair to kick start recruiting in the fall quarter. Join us for an opportunity to connect with students from the College and UChicago’s graduate and professional schools! This location-independent, virtual format will maximize your team’s time and efforts and provide greater access to the UChicago talent community.
Jeff Metcalf Internship Program
The Jeff Metcalf Internship Program is the flagship internship program for University of Chicago undergraduate students. For 25 years, the Metcalf Program has provided paid, substantive internships to UChicago students and empowered generations of students and alumni to launch successful careers. The program pays tribute to Harold “Jeff” Metcalf (AM’52), who was Dean of Students at the Graduate School of Business (now Chicago Booth) from 1956 to 1975. Jeff’s dedication to helping students both within the University and beyond inspired one of his former students Byron D. Trott (AB’81, MBA’82) to establish an internship program in his honor.
The Program connects organizations with a pool of skilled candidates and resources of the University. The flexibility of the Metcalf Program allows organizations to work with students in a virtual, in-person, or hybrid capacity and to seamlessly incorporate them into their own internship programs. Participating organizations have used it as an opportunity to scout talent for full-time positions and broaden their UChicago reach.
