INFORMATION SESSIONS
One of the best ways to engage with students is through a virtual or in-person information session where you can showcase your organization, introducing students to your workplace, career pathways, and advancement. Most employer sessions are held in the evening after 5pm CT. Typically employers schedule sessions 2-3 weeks prior to first-round interviews.
COFFEE CHATS
Make connections with students in 1:1 or small group settings. These informal discussions provide a relaxed environment to explore potential fits for your organization and offer valuable industry insights to our student body.

Jeff Metcalf Internship Program
The Jeff Metcalf Internship Program is the flagship internship program for University of Chicago undergraduate students. For 25 years, the Metcalf Program has provided paid, substantive internships to UChicago students and empowered generations of students and alumni to launch successful careers. The program pays tribute to Harold “Jeff” Metcalf (AM’52), who was Dean of Students at the Graduate School of Business (now Chicago Booth) from 1956 to 1975. Jeff’s dedication to helping students both within the University and beyond inspired one of his former students Byron D. Trott (AB’81, MBA’82) to establish an internship program in his honor.
The Program connects organizations with a pool of skilled candidates and resources of the University. The flexibility of the Metcalf Program allows organizations to work with students in a virtual, in-person, or hybrid capacity and to seamlessly incorporate them into their own internship programs. Participating organizations have used it as an opportunity to scout talent for full-time positions and broaden their UChicago reach.
Benefits to Employers
Access to students with technical skills and professional acumen, coupled with a rigorous liberal arts education, which prepare them to be strong performers in the workplace
Partnership with dedicated employer relations staff to support the full-cycle internship recruitment process and attract competitive talent
A proven track record - employers seek Metcalf interns year after year because of their meaningful work and contributions to the organization
In the 2023-2024 academic year, over half of the student body pursued internships through the Metcalf Program. In partnership with a global network of employers, UChicago supported students with 4,500 Metcalf internships.
